Iranian President at Columbia U.

I read a really interesting article in the NY Times today about Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Columbia University. Even being a pretty liberal school, I wasn't surprised by the students' reactions to his vist. Many were outraged and protestors have been at the school all day. I certainly wouldn't want President Ahmadinejad coming to speak at BYU. A lot of his remarks seemed either very divertive or just pig-headed. I mean, he said “In Iran, we don’t have homosexuals like in your country. We don’t have that in our country." Ok. Right. That's a pretty generalized comment. He also went around questions asked about his view of the destruction of the Israeli state. He wouldn't answer the question directly (yes or no), responding “Where’s the free expression in that?” Anyways, it's a very interesting article.
